Celtic Speed compete at the recent Dubai 24 hour event

Celtic Speed teamed up with GT3 Racing for the recent Dubai 24 hour event in the heart of the middle eastern desert. This was the 2nd time the team had done the event, the first trip resulting in a superb 2nd place finish in the Diesel class driving a BMW 120d. This time the team were in a Ginetta G50 in the hotly contested GT4 class. The drivers were Tommy Dreelan, Craig Wilkins, Andy Ruhan, Leigh Smart and professional driver Aaron Scott and the team consisted of a number of Celtic Speed's regulars including Alan Keith and Jamie Cleland.

Aaron produced a quick lap in qualifying to place the Ginetta 3rd in class and 41st overall out of the 90 GT cars that were set to start the race which included works supported entries from Mercedes, Porsche and Ferrari.

After an intense race the drivers battled heat, fatigue and all the technical challenges that a 24 hour race brings to bring the car home a superb 5th in class and 38th overall after completing 492 laps of the Dubai Autodrome circuit.

"Aaron said, "The team and drivers did a great job. It's never easy getting to the finish in these races and I'm proud of the guys to get to the flag. We all enjoyed the race and will be back again next year."
