It’s back to the Porsche Carrera Cup action with rounds 7/8 at Oulton Park this weekend - and I can’t wait to get back in the car. The Cheshire circuit is forecast to have glorious sunshine all weekend with temperatures breaking 20 degrees each day!

Some people might have been frustrated by the break since the last race, but I was actually pretty glad. It is fair to say that the first three meetings did not go the way either I or the Celtic Speed team would have wanted and it was nice to take a step back for a week or two. I know all racers have ups and downs — I'm sure that an upwards trend is on the cards.
I am in a hugely competitive series — one of the best in the country. One small mistake can have major effects on your results.
Now I am ready to bounce back. There is not much point in looking at the championship picture at the moment, but if I concentrate on maximising my performance in every session then we can see where we are after the next three rounds.
As a team we have the same goals and the same fierce determination to get things right and we will both be doing everything in our power to get the results we know we are capable of achieving — and if that puts us in with a chance of the title toward the end of the season, then we are going for it.
We completed a test at Knockhill this week which was my first time in the car since Thruxton. It was really nice to be out on the track on my own in preparation for this weekend. We simulated qualifying and race runs which provided the guys with good information. The whole team were there and we showed some really strong pace.
Now my sole focus is Oulton and it is a track that everyone loves — fast, flowing, undulating with loads of blind corners. It is very hard to put one perfect lap together because it so easy to make a mistake. It is very much like Knockhill in its nature but on a bigger scale with some "scarily" quick turns. The warm temperatures will provide excellent grip levels and the track will become better and better throughout the weekend. The good weather will also pose a real challenge for every driver, as our cock pits heat up fitness will really play a big part!
You can catch live television coverage of race 2 which is broadcast on ITV4 at 15.55 this Sunday afternoon and TSL Timing will be providing lap times and results as they happen. Click the link below and scroll to the bottom of the screen where you will find the live timing feature;
