There has been a quiet air of determination amongst the boys at Celtic Speed and we are set on going all out at Donington Park for rounds 3 and 4 of the Porsche Carrera Cup.
I am really excited about the weekend. It will be tough and more than ever we will have to stick together as a team with the 6 place grid penalty from Brands Hatch, but I still believe podiums are a realistic aim for the meeting.
We know we have got good qualifying pace, so we just need to make sure we are as close to the front as we can be. We want as few people in front of us as possible, so if we can stick it on pole before our grid penalty is applied then that will be a real marker to everyone else. It will let them know that we are up for the fight and we have a car that can do the business.
Donington Park is a real driver’s circuit with great undulations, blind crests and with the majority of corners being medium to fast speed. I can’t wait to head down the steep and off camber Craner Curves at over 145 mph, it’s a massive buzz.
We will be certainly be pushing this weekend.
