Silverstone here we come!!
Hi All,
This is the part of the season where everything counts. After a couple of unlucky rounds, we are still in a great position to fight for second place in the overall championship.
The Porsche Carrera Cup GB series heads to Silverstone’s national configuration. It may be small and have few corners, but it still has numerous challenges with its very fast nature.
I have been successful at this circuit in Formula Fords in the past and I have a good good feel of where I can make the Celtic Speed car quicker.
There are just 21 points between Ben Barker in second place in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB championship and me in fifth. Ben has been flying recently and I plan on catching him!
It is going to be really close because it is such a short circuit. That means you have to get every corner hooked up and find that perfect lap. But I know the places that I can overtake in the races so hopefully we will have all the options covered. I know that Celtic Speed will give me a great car – they have done that all season.
I'm feeling good and I do enjoy the circuit, but I need to replicate the success I have had in the past.
I feel I have developed as a driver as the season has gone on. We will see how much that helps me this weekend. Whatever happens, there certainly won’t be anything left in the tank as we will be giving it all. Hopefully, that will be enough.
After qualifying at 12.55 on Saturday, round 17 will start at 09.00 on Sunday, with round 18 at 15.45. Round 18 will be broadcast live on ITV4 during the extensive BTCC programme which runs from 11.00 on Sunday.
Once again lap times and results will be available from the link below from Saturday onwards:
