The Celtic Speed Mini Cooper Cup will again form part of the exciting British Touring Car Championship package with two races at Knockhill next weekend (Aug 25/26).
And while all eyes will be on Edinburgh brothers David and Tim Sleigh as they battle it out for the title, ITV presenter Louise Goodman will be making her debut in the series.
‘The Princess of the Pit Lane’, as dubbed by anchorman Steve Rider, hasn’t competed in motor sport since 1999 when she finished third in class in Britain’s round of the World Rally Championship.
She also took part in a pit stop during a Formula 1 grand prix during 2006 while presenting for ITV!
“It’s been a few years since I sat in a racing car, so I’m not really expecting to be giving the regular drivers too much trouble," Louise said, "but I’m very excited, and more than a little nervous, about racing at Knockhill.
“It’s a fabulous circuit and I’m sure it will be quite a challenge – and a lot of fun. I’ll be getting some lessons from one of the very best before my race… Gordon Shedden has agreed to take me out on track and give me a few tips. I think I’ll be needing all the help I can get!”
