The opening meeting of the 2012 Celtic Speed Scottish Mini Cooper Cup delivered a triple win for Edinburgh's Sleigh brothers — two for Tim, and one for defending champ David.  But the season started in spectacular — if disappointing — fashion when, on the second lap of the opening race of the season at Knockhill, Broughty Ferry's Kenny MacLeod took out the Mini of Stefan di Resta.

The Bathgate racer, brother of Formula One ace Paul di Resta and who was making his debut in the Minis, was naturally left disappointed by the incident.  After the restart, Tim Sleigh powered to a 1.787secs win ahead of brother David, with Edinburgh's Kenny Brewster, son of Celtic Speed Porsche racer George, third.

The day's second race — in torrential rain and fog — saw the top two positions remain the same, but this time it was Kenny Brewster's brother Steven who took the final step of the podium.  And it was David Sleigh who clinched victory in the day's third and final nine-lap race, finishing just 0.885secs ahead of Ross Wylie from Thornhill, with Tim third.
